What is this?

A self-improvement book, written as Questions-Meet-Answers, first-person format showcasing readers a spectrum of possibilities for both physiological/scientific and sociological/meritocratic – avenues towards pursuing self-resilience and Authentic Individuality.

Imploring all prospective readers to answer this one (seemingly benign) question: Are we truly happy; living, sustaining and conforming to our existing Systemic Normalcy? Far and beyond a book than simply an account of self-survivorship – a personal address and hypothesis based from the understanding of the more nuanced aspects of Human Nutrition – serving as the last, possible rationale towards any or all of our current states of societal and humanitarian declines. From Structural Violence, to Psycho-Social Stress. From metabolic syndromes to mental disorders.

What is this?

A self-improvement book, written as Questions-Meet-Answers, first-person format showcasing readers a spectrum of possibilities for both physiological/scientific and sociological/meritocratic – avenues towards pursuing self-resilience and Authentic Individuality.

Entirely composed of a three-years (and on-going) reflectional self felt account and experience/s through progressive nutritional changes. A book to implore its readers to answer this one (seemingly benign) question: Are we truly happy; living, sustaining and conforming to our existing Systemic Normalcy?

A myriad of topics relevant to our turbulent times in various chapters. From Structural Violence, to Psycho-Social Stress. From metabolic syndromes to mental disorders. From gender politics / “inequality” politics, to sexuality and primal admissions. From addressing various untold, anecdotal insights of Ketogenic intervention/s (from SKD to CKD), Intermittent Fasting, Neuroeconomics, Oxytocin, No-Tropics, Nutritional Journaling & Resource Consumption Tracking.  

Far and beyond than simply an account of self-survivorship – a hypothetical, personal address based from the understanding of human nutrition – as confounder towards our current overall state of societal and humanitarian declines. 

Why should I bother? 

One may perceive this conventionally as a book entirely on Ketogenic and/or other unconventional nutritional interventions. But in reality – beyond motivational phrases and instructional “How-To’s”. A book to incite within the readers – curiosities to live and abide to their own biological and nutritional individualisation. In times of scarcities and abundance.

A book to implore a change of perspective on food not as hedonic rituals; but as resources. Beyond topics of Nutrition and Science – a curious examination of how (poorly) our current, Pedestrian states at filtering, and/or digesting – information, belief/s and influences governed / orchestrated by Institutions, Dietary “Guidelines” and/or “Correction” Bodies. 

(Almost) anybody. Any individual who maintains and asserts curiosities as means of self-development beyond institutional or pedestrian conformities of living, sustaining and interacting. 

Whilst some of the detailed/nuanced sections of Ketogenic Intervention (as well as that of other alternative dietary interventions) may seem overwhelming – they nevertheless (inevitably) serve some prime importance and relevance for any stage throughout the reader’s life. 

The many Questions within are derived from a widely dismissive, skeptical and frowning – perspective/s often expressed in today’s normalcy.

This book may not directly solve all the world’s problems, or any definitive, empirical one-liner cause behind all metabolic syndromes, or pathological outcomes be it cognitive or physiological. 

This book however hypothesizes the only one last and final qualitative process we often leave behind and take granted for the rest of the world; to realise, revise and accept. All of which leads to our own metabolic, and cognitive measure/s of Humility; at recognising what “enough” means – in biological, philosophical and sociological interpretations.

Our current appraisal of “Economics” and “Efficiency” 
is anything, but efficient.

An average Australian household produces unwanted food wastes comparative to 29.6 weeks worth of Petrol consumption (assuming an average of $35 per week). Or equivalent up to three discretionary holiday travel/s each year (excluding trash generated elsewhere too; obviously).

Tonnes of dump. All food.

That’s 523 kg worth of food for each household. The waste generated VS population ratio of growth indexes skyrocketed by 3 to 1 ratio from 1998 to 2012; representing a 145% increase of overall waste production in 14 years.

Nutrient inadequacies – now a confounding factor to suicide rates. Structural classism / violence – also strong confounders toward metabolic syndromes and CVD risk/s. Despite aggressive adherence towards low-fat WITH low calories dietary guideline/s – both premature and adults adverse pathology continue to persist. 

Why Food? Why should I care?

In one word – Nutrition is Interpretation. Everything there is of life; exists because primarily of need for consumption to sustain and perpetuate reproduction. What was consumed therefore – begins something else anew; competitively. Every chain or realm of consumption begins with a cause, and ends with an effect. 

Nutrition is the Understanding and the Reflecting of how we individually interpret ourselves in relative to our environment by Realising both the cause and effects of the resources we consume. Therefore our ability for digesting – everything we perceive, interact and most importantly – reflect – ultimately justifies every individual presence of being/s – from social moralities right down to hormonal and molecular sustenance. All these are dependant from one process to another, connectively impacting towards all aspects of living and sustaining.

Any attempt to universally contain the above”processes” into one law, rule, paradigm or institution for empirical “Correctness” – is inevitably incompatible to individual, human variable sensitivities. 

“Institutions” are created only by an averaged means of solution/s to complex contextual variabilities; but once enforced as a Law or Paradigm – it is foolishly deterministic to maintain this optimism towards all biological contexts and interpretations. Institutions; therefore rarely, if ever – change their code or stance of principles, or beliefs willingly; only remaining to that as permanent correctness of financed practice. They believe “Science” – as a fixed, immutable objectivity of “facts” and empirical finalities; rather than a subjective open book of variable interpretations.

Why Food? Why should I care?

What truly constitutes “Common” Sense? We most likely only refer to the end-visual, observational aspect of what Common Sense is (Hint: driven stereotypically by politeness-to-policy compliances).

Unfortunately, many people are instilled with relaxed assumptions that “Common Sense”, “Willpower” and “Humility” – should all remain as universally defined by Religious or Spiritual-based values of “moral charity”. This book however; implores such as haphazardly-idealistic interpretation. Thus instead implores on the lateral re-definition of all three – as PhysicalBiological / Nutritional sustenance to both serve and to live wisely – within individual’s authentic, resourceful capacity.

A list (though not exclusively complete) of adverse social and pathologic persistence/s still remains, if not worse. All from us not truly and laterally understand the sensitive notion behind this need and realm – of consumption.

Food wastage, childhood obesity, metabolic syndromes, mental illnesses, suicide rates, widening gender politics, widening civil inequality, juvenile, unemployment, and crime rates; all continues aggravating every corners of living. Despite all measures of “good” or “orderly” institutional common senses being followed down to the letter. Or “Normal” dietary guidelines. Or forced “Means Tested” social-welfare’s.

If “Common Sense” is largely attributed to “Sensibility” via conforming / following same patterned methodology over and over again despite persistent adverse or unrelenting outcome/s – are your senses thus remain statistically determined by those who do not claim or own – your one and only inseparable biology?

Are you thus happy to remain as a follower akin to a statistical number? Or an explorer of your own authenticity?

Let us think about this for a minute. If you are not so selective about food; you’d eat anything and accept anything there is as accordingly by various institutional guidance to whatever of abundance and “economical”, Correct? If you have genetic predispositions towards  metabolic or hormonal adversities – for how much longer would you like to live in this denial?

What adheres your conscious more towards then – self hedonic abundance or self research and awareness? Now, what if you are willing to invest time to develop self-consciousness skills? If you eat mindfully within what is both applicable and respectable to your own metabolic needs, your own contexts of living / energy expenditures – would that not contribute far less resource consumption? More importantly – would that not be a sign or progress for inner discipline and self resilience?

These arguments are futile judgments based entirely on visualised outcomes. Rather than understanding each of their own processes. You may “appear” to live safe and sound in the confines of a “home”. But you are never away from your debt until you are in fact – crippled (from head to toe) by the very System granting you that roof. Technically speaking, “Mortgage” is a “Death Contract”; in Lawyer’s terms.

You may “appear” to be skinny and widely perceived as “healthy” in what you do – yet nobody can truly know if these alone are the “ultimate” “means” of defense or subsistence; against any metabolic adversities; in any given changes of time, moment, or living context/s

The choice to remain subservient to each and every one of our Institutions; from politics to economics, from modern medicine to food pyramid, from religion to marriage Institution/s – all remains with you to decide on whatever aligns and conforms to your individual and authentic – primal senses. Just remember that since birth; you are endowed with a full name to identify your own sense of being; where as Institutions – regard you only as a static number.

“But you are not homeless! / You are still young! / You are not SICK Or “old”!

Yet nobody can truly know if this outcome alone is the “ultimate” “means” of defense or subsistence; against any metabolic adversities; in any given changes of time, moment, or living context/s

Throughout anyone’s lifetime and regardless of geography – we are ALL susceptible to any changes derived from the Structural / Systemic level. The choice whether to remain institutionally subservient or to reflect and reconcile what your Self-Authenticity is; lies with you.
